There have been a number of books written on the history of Belleek ware and the Belleek Pottery, but none of them really meet the needs of the collector requiring a definitive reference with which to identify a particular piece. The purpose of compiling this series of books is to provide for this need and give the collector a comprehensive, logical, and easy to follow source of information.

The first book in the series covers Vases, and flower Pots. It also includes pieces which, in my "Belleek Irish Porcelain book", where not listed under these headings. Some were in Miscellaneous and others n the Center Piece section. However, on reflection, this time I feel that they are more fitting in this book because of their common connection with flowers. For example the Erne Basket was under the heading of Miscellaneous but is, in truth, a flower container.

Because of the large number of unrecorded pieces, I do not believe it would be reasonable to leave them all un-named so I have named them myself. I have done this by either giving a piece (with permission) the name of the person who owned it at the time I photographed it, or by naming it descriptively. In every case I have indicated that I named the piece. However because the Pottery’s inventory has been so poorly documented, with many records lost or destroyed, it is very likely that still more un-recorded pieces will come to light. I am always interested in hearing about them.

I have travelled far and wide collecting information and pictures for this book, but it is important that the reader appreciates that the comments are my opinion alone.

Numbering: The prefix letters and numbers I have given are the same as in my previous book.

VS Vase
MI Miscellaneous
CP Centre piece
FP Flower Pot
SHA Shamrock

In the VS section, where there are so many new vases, any piece, which does not appear in my first book has been given a number in the 300s.
